Day in Gatlinberg

We took a day and got cleaned up and enjoyed some time in downtown Gatlinberg. We perused almost all the shops, got some very nice wall hangings for the house and a SIGN (coming in a later post), ate tons of yummy food, and really had a great time!
We got all gussied up and made ourselves look like tourists!!!

We had a late breakfast at this little Pancake Pantry

Strawberry waffle (with just made REAL whupped cream)

Chocolate Chip pancakes with REAL just made Butter Yum !!!
Behind the Pancake Pantry was like a small international village that had lots of little shops with clothing, trinkets, bath and body items, candles, coffee and candy, and art. We happened to stumble into an Irish store...
My ever stylish man

No, Honey, Stripes and plaid do not go together....AND it's a dress!

Oh look at the bonnie lass!

The ski-lift that we opted not to ride... Yikes!

Enjoying one of the many western stores... Ya'll come back now ya hear?

Mountains, Bojangles,Hillbillies... oh my!

Bojangles.... kinda like Popeyes really... only really really amazing Sweet Tea, (according to My Husband)

This store was fun.. "honey, I don't think we're in Illinois anymore..."
We visited the Titanic museum in Pigeon Forge, which was totally awesome! Tons of artifacts brought up from the wreck site, it's amazing how intact some of the clothing and dishes were! We both were given the profile of someone aboard and got a little biography on them, then we got to find out if we survived the whole ordeal. I was a 42 year old spinster who was a ladies maid to the wife of the richest man on the ship. Bryce was a 19 year old kitchen boy in 3rd class. Amazing both of us survived. I
was really suprised that his 3rd class fellow made it out alive. It was very unlikely for that to happen. We got to touch their replica ice berg, stand on the deck of the ship at the different angles it hit while sinking (slide anyone?) view what different rooms would look like in 1st and 3rd class, stand on the Grand Staircase.

life sized replica of one of the anchors

Did I mention that the button weeds in Tennessee are actually trees? This bad boy had a trunk about 5-6 inches wide and was about 8 feet tall!  Yes, yes,  I know,,, nerdy farm kid ;)

Another beautiful day at the river

Honeymoon Post 2 !!!!!! Finally!

Yay! I'm back! I confiscated my amazing husband's phone so that I could let you wonderful people know how we were doing and post more honeymoon pix.
The river!!! We followed this alot while we visited Great Smokey Mountain National Park

Ain't they cute? Only been married for 3 days!

Lots of tunnels while driving up the mountain... and when one drives through a tunnel the must "HONK!" it is quite a thrill!

The first glimpse of the mountains up close! Absolutely breathtaking!

We visited Clingman's Dome, the highest point in the mountains, it was quite a hike. And you can definately see why they call them "The Smokies"

On Top of The World!!!

So pretty...
