Mondays

Today is a Monday. I don't always do well on Mondays. I admit it. The freedom and major accomplishments and relaxing of the weekend make it difficult for me to have the motivation to get up and resume work for the week. 

This morning was such a morning. I did pretty good about getting up,exercising, getting ready and eating breakfast. And then walking out the door of my home and then stepping into the work mindset put me in a cloudy mood. When I got to work it didn't improve either. Frustrating scenarios came up, things I couldn't fix. I wasn't wanting to be a help to anyone. I sent a note to my husband basically saying this stinks. I'm not happy :( 

And from him, I get back an encouraging email. Checking in on me. Seeing how the day was. Saying he loved me. Saying it will all be ok.... I just wanted to cry. He gives me so much grace. I am very blessed. I am very humbled 

Harvest time !!!

This is the face of pure happiness right here! Bryce got the opportunity to operate a combine for some good friends of ours. He thought he had totally missed out to help with harvest but they had one field if corn left so quickly offered to help :) so they let him pick the field. It was a beautiful crisp sunny fall day. Just perfect. I got to play farm wife and bring supper out and ride:) this is definitely my favorite time if year !!! 

Colorado!!!!

We took a trip to to Rocky Mountain national park a few weeks ago hoping to catch the pretty fall colors. We were not disappointed!  The weather and the scenery was absolutely gorgeous! It was great to get away and relax and see the mountains for the first time. Our flights were pretty smooth and we also got to visit with Caryn, Lyle,Jerod, and Ashtyn. We even got to see Jarod play football!

In the park we saw lots of elk, deer, some moose and on one of our drives some mountain sheep. Here are just a few highlights. I'll try to put up more pix later!

Thankful Thursday

I am very thankful for all the precious blessings in my life! I have an amazing husband, a wonderful family, I love the country life, this beautiful fall weather is gorgeous, I'm thankful for all of my great friends and my church.

They're here!

The day has finally come! 21 little fluff balls arrived at the post office this morning 

5 leghorns, 5 black stars, 5 red stars, 2 red Cornish,and 3 white. 

They seem pretty happy:)

I hope they do ok while I'm at work 

OBX 2013 Continued

Here is another view from the deck. So beautiful and relaxing. 

There were tons of these little guys on the beach. When it was dark people would go out with their kids, flashlights , and buckets to catch crabs. We heard lots of squeals of surprise and delight. I can say when we walked along the beach in the dark without a flashlight it made us a little nervous!

We visited the Wright Brothers museum in Kitty Hawk . It was a really neat site. We climbed up to the top of the dune to see the memorial and to enjoy the view of the coastline 

The Cape Hatteras lighthouse is the tallest of the six lighthouses on the OBX and probably the most pretty. We had the privilege to see three of the lighthouses. Hatteras is the only one we went up in. All of the lighthouses have spiral staircases and have thousands if bricks. The stairs were a little net wracking but it was totally worth it to see this view.
