OBX 2013

So, we have been quite the world travelers. We had planned back in the cold frigid winter months on January that we would go to the beach in June. The Outer Banks in North Carolina specifically. I was a little nervous at first, an excited nervous : I'd never been to the beach in my life, and water, even still, keeps me wondering. You never know what kind if creatures could be swimming in those dark depths, waiting to nibble on your toes! But I was also excited because it looked beautiful and relaxing and also very fun. So on the night of the 20th we drove up to Chicago. The hotel we stayed at was right down the street from Midway and our room faced the airport. I didn't know if Bryce would get any sleep or not! He absolutely loves watching planes:)

Here we are dark and early at 4 on the morning to catch our 530 flight. Unfortunately, due to a way delayed checkin and security check( let's just say there weren't enough workers out of bed
To accommodate the mass if people that needed to get on a plane. ) we sprinted to the gate, and got there at 5:22,but they wouldn't let us on. So we waited for an hour for our next flight to Atlanta

Here we are in the town of Bath. This is the oldest incorporated town in the US. est. in 1705.
Wheat harvest was well underway and we say lots of burnt fields. This is the only one we actually saw burn though. Look at those flames!
This little lighthouse is in the town of Edenton, another old old town with lots of old houses
This was the neatest little visitors centor!
Here we are going over one of the sounds, I think it was the Abermarle. This particular bridge had a drawbridge for boats to get through.
Ahh.... and here we at at the beach in Nagshead. This was the view right off our deck!!!

Well it's getting late ! I will put up more pictures soon!

Anniversary part 2

On the final day of our weekend away, we went to the arch and old courthouse. Yep we went aaaaalllllllllllll the waaaaaayyyyy to the top. It's a long way up there in a pea pod.

The view below was quite gorgeous
This is inside the old courthouse. There were 3 stories  and you could go to the very top.

On the way home after our yummy pizza lunch we were treated with this rainbow. God's creation is awesome!
Here is our 1 year anniversary gift from Caryn,Lyle, Jared, and Ashtyn!  We got all paper items! It was very sweet!

I saw this not too long after we got home !!! Isn't it incredible?!

We went away to stlouis for a nice weekend away. We stayed at the wildwood hotel in Wildwood ,MO which was a quite gorgeous part of the country.  Our room had a hot tub!

These little swans greeted us!
The top of our wedding cake that was preserved in our freezer. It tasted pretty good, definitely not a year old.

I was so excited to go to the spaghetti factory. I went there in high school and loved it, when we came here I was not disappointed  garlic shrimp fettuccine was delicious !
We got all dressed up even
Here's Bryce waiting for his yummy breakfast at Waffle House
We found a nice park and enjoyed walking in the woods for awhile watching out for snakes then sitting in the shade and reading for awhile

Stormy wet date

Last night after doing some cleaning and yard work we ventured to culvers for some supper and a date. Most of you know that there'd were done big storms that blew through the area. We were the adventurous types last night I guess or crazy ones... But it was nice to get out and spend some quality time :)

Encouragement

We all have bad days. We're not promised that all of our days will be bright and sunny and we'll have a cheerful attitude...
This morning was my morning. It took one phone call and my whole morning was ruined.I shouldn't have let the situation bother me so much but it did. I figured the whole day had gone to the toilet.
But then my husband , my wonderful amazing loving man, sent me flowers. Oh the girls in the office all thought he had gotten in trouble and was trying appease me. But no, that sweet man of mine knew that I was emotionally crumbling and wanted to cheer me up :) that gave me something to smile about !
I love that man!

Flowers! Bake Sale! Music!

This weekend our flowerbed just exploded with color! The daffodils and tulips are absolutely breathtaking! They smell divine! I Love Spring! Bryce had also mowed the yard, and the aroma of the fresh mowed grass and the rain we had was absolutely wonderful!

Bryce and I had the fun oppurtunity to see Kenny Chesney in concert! I've never had the pleasure to see him in concert before, but Bryce has quite a few times. It was a lot of fun!
Kenny sings alot of beach songs which inspires the pirate flag

Friday and Saturday were the local townwide garage sales, my friend Brittany and I had a bake sale. You saw in earlier posts some of the many goodies we sold. It was alot of fun. We got to talk to a lot of people. After we sold most of our items, we walked around town looking for bargains.

I got this nice bookshelf for $5!!! and the books below for just a couple!

Probably my favorite buy, new with tags. Was $42 got it for $2.50!! YEAH!!

Spring is officially here. Planters are rolling. Work is busy and stressful. Hopefully it goes quickly, safely, with very little issues!

Have a fantastic evening!
